I figured I'd wait until the price gouging declined. I went back 2 weeks later and they still had 3 of 4 of those border mixed pups, they were 14 weeks old and all available for $900. Vinnies is taking advantage of the current health crisis.

Before the pandemic a pure border sold for $550. Vinnies had some mixed borders last September 2020, they wanted $1100. I wanted a Border Collie after losing my Collie last summer. They purchased 2 beautiful labs for $1100 each. Local breeders are now in 2021 charging half that for pure yellow labs with both parent dogs onsite. My neighbor wanted a yellow lab, this store wants 2 thousand and up. Some of the mixed names are just made up, and this store is charging prices like the pups are some kind of valuable designer dogs. Nothing wrong with that, some of the best dogs are mutts or mixed breeds. The young woman with the tattoos (sorry I don't remember the name) is very knowledgeable and good with customers. The staff I met on 3 occasions during the last 7 months were nice and friendly. The owners at this shop only care about money and not the well-being of the dogs that they are trying to profit from.

But my heart felt so miserably for these poor dogs. We ended up not getting the puppy due to a dominance issue. The temperature inside the VERY SMALL building was no less than 90°. The conditions of this pet shoppe upon our return were MISERABLE. Which clearly the employees never reported to the owners that we were interested. We showed up in person to the pet shoppe and the owner happened to be there and was easily willing to sell this dog for $1100. Employees told us they would contact us after talking to the owners and never did. We called twice asking for a discount on this puppy considering we have his brother. The price for this boxer had been dropped to $1599 since he hadn’t been adopted yet. We noticed that his brother still had not been bought. Previously purchased our $2500 boxer from this pet shoppe with no issues back in March.
